1. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. When you subscribe to our newsletter, download a guide or template, request vendor contact, or send us a message, you may provide your name, email address, company name, industry, company size, and details about your quality software evaluation (such as your current systems or compliance requirements). We collect only the information shown on the form you submit.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website we automatically collect technical information, including your IP address (which is anonymized in our analytics), browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and usage patterns. This information is collected through Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare Web Analytics as described in Sections 3 and 7.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our website and content
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and requested vendor contact
  • Send newsletters and updates if you have subscribed
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities on our website
  • Facilitate affiliate marketing and commission tracking when you click on vendor links
  • Display relevant advertising through Google AdSense and measure ad performance

Legal bases (GDPR). Where the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) applies, we rely on the following lawful bases: (a) consent for non-essential cookies, newsletter subscriptions, and being contacted about your evaluation (see consent wording on our forms and cookie banner); (b) legitimate interest in operating and securing our website, understanding aggregate usage, and preventing fraud; and (c) contract or legal obligation where applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Affiliate Links and Commission Disclosure. Some of the links on our website are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase or sign up for a service, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. These relationships help us maintain our website as a free educational resource. Our editorial content, comparisons, and rankings are not influenced by affiliate partnerships. We are a participant in affiliate programs, including but not limited to vendor-sponsored referral programs.

3. Analytics and Tracking

Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 is provided by Google Ireland Limited (for users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland) and Google LLC (elsewhere). IP addresses are anonymized before any processing. GA4 runs in cookieless mode until you accept analytics in our cookie consent banner (Google Consent Mode v2); data retention is up to 14 months. You can opt out of Google Analytics for the web at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Cloudflare Web Analytics.We use Cloudflare’s Web Analytics, which measures aggregate traffic without setting cookies and without profiling individual visitors. It does not require consent.

4. Advertising

Google AdSense. We may use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this website. Google AdSense is provided by Google LLC (and Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland). AdSense sets or reads cookies (e.g.,__gads, __gpi, IDE) and similar technologies on your browser to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure the performance of ads. Third parties may also place and read cookies on your browser as a result of ad serving. You can review how Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps at www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. Advertising cookies are only set after you consent to advertising via our consent management platform; in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, ads run in non-personalized mode when consent is not given, per Google’s EU user consent policy. Personalized ads are never served to users known to be under 13, and ad requests are never based on sensitive categories (health, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.) as prohibited by Google’s personalized advertising policies.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (such as retargeting). We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, each of whom is contractually obligated to protect your information and to process it only for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting of this website on Cloudflare Pages and storage of lead-submission records in Cloudflare D1.
  • Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited— Google Analytics 4 (see Section 3), Google AdSense advertising and ad-measurement services (see Section 4), and Google’s user consent infrastructure.
  • Formspree — processing of newsletter signups and guide/resource downloads.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional email (such as lead notifications).
  • HubSpot — routing of lead-submission forms into our vendor evaluation workflow.
  • Qualified vendor partners — only when you submit an evaluation request and agree to be contacted. We pass along only the details you entered on the relevant form, plus your IP address and referral information where required, subject to the consent you provide at submission.

Affiliate Networks. When you click on affiliate links on our website, certain information (such as the referring page, your IP address, and a timestamp) may be shared with third-party affiliate networks and the vendor whose product or service is linked, solely for commission tracking and attribution. We do not share your personal contact information with affiliate networks or vendors for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

We may also disclose your information where required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of our users, or in connection with a merger, sale, or acquisition.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data is transferred to this website over HTTPS/TLS-encrypted connections.

7. Data Retention

We retain: (a) newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe; (b) lead and evaluation records for as long as needed to fulfill your request and for a reasonable period afterward as required by applicable law; (c) analytics data for up to 14 months; and (d) advertising cookies per Google’s retention settings (typically up to 13 months, as set via Google’s ad-cookie controls). When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies that are required for the site to function, analytics cookies (only after your consent) to understand how visitors interact with our site, advertising cookies (only after your consent) to serve and measure ads via Google AdSense, and affiliate tracking cookies to attribute commissions when you click on vendor links. Analytics, advertising, and affiliate tracking run only after you accept them in our consent banner. You can control your preferences at any time using the “Cookie preferences” button on our site, your browser settings, or the tools described in our Cookie Policy.

9. International Data Transfers

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your personal data may be transferred to the United States and processed by cloud providers such as Cloudflare, Google, Formspree, Resend, and HubSpot. Where required, we rely on the EU–U.S. and UK-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks or on EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and on equivalent safeguards for other recipients, to make those transfers.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have rights over your personal data, including:

  • If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR):the right of access, correction, erasure (“right to be forgotten”), restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time.
  • If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA):the right to know, to access, to delete, to correct, and to port your personal information; the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information profile and the right to non-discrimination. We do not sell and do not share your personal information, so we have nothing to opt you out of except to confirm that we never do so. Under California Civil Code 1798.83, California residents may also request details of any disclosures we may have made for direct-marketing purposes; we do not make such disclosures.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our website is intended for a business audience and is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date, and where required by law, by asking for renewed consent.
